Board and train built for owners who drive in
Lebanon sits at the northeastern end of our service area, out along Interstate 44. That distance shapes the recommendation more than anything about the dog: most Lebanon owners choose an immersive board and train, where the driving happens twice, rather than weekly lessons.
Built for how Lebanon dogs actually live
Lebanon is the county seat of Laclede County and sits on Interstate 44 along the historic Route 66 corridor, with Missouri Routes 5, 32 and 64 running out from it. I-44 is the road that connects it to the Springfield side of our service area, and it is the reason board and train is usually the practical answer here rather than a weekly lesson schedule.
Board and train also solves the problem that distance creates. Your dog spends one or two weeks living and working with the trainer instead of practicing bad habits between sessions, and you get daily updates with a photo or video so the two weeks are not a black box.
The handover matters as much as the training. Every board and train finishes with a two hour one-on-one session where the trainer shows you what your dog now does, how to ask for it and how to hold the standard once you are back home in Lebanon. Without that session the training would start slipping the first week.
What your dog learns with us in Lebanon
The core commands
Come, sit, place, down, heel and off. The same six commands sit at the base of every Off Leash K9 package, whether you train in lessons or send your dog for board and train.
Loose-leash walking
The fourth basic obedience lesson is loose-leash walking, so your dog walks beside you instead of towing you down the sidewalk. A 15 ft training leash is included with the package.
Off-leash reliability
Built through the two week board and train, where your dog works off leash, outdoors, with real distractions in play. It is a board and train outcome, not something lessons alone deliver.
Manners that hold up in public
Door, greeting and meal manners, plus socialization around people and other dogs and high-level distraction proofing, all covered in the two week board and train.
Daily updates, then a full handover
Your trainer sends daily updates with a photo or video while your dog is with them, and finishes with a two hour one-on-one session showing you how to handle everything your dog has learned.

What Southwest Missouri dog owners say
“I can’t thank McKenzie enough for the incredible work she did with my 6-month-old Rottweiler, Maverick. I did the 2 week board and train program. I was blown away by how well-behaved and confident he is now. I am now able to take him anywhere without hesitation.…”
“We are so very grateful to have found Off Leash and have had a wonderful experience from start to finish. I was shopping around for different trainers to find what would best meet our needs for our boy, who had a LOT he needed to work on.…”
“All I can say is that this has been worth every penny! McKenzie was absolutely fantastic every step of the way with Murphy. She is a “dog whisperer”! As a very nervous dog-mom, leaving my (very ill-behaved) baby for two weeks was hard!…”
Dog training in Lebanon, answered
Do you train dogs in Lebanon, MO?
Yes. Lebanon is inside the area Off Leash K9 Training Southwest Missouri covers. We are not a walk-in storefront, so your trainer confirms the training location with you when you book. One thing worth knowing up front: we generally do not train dogs inside your house. It is easy for a dog to listen at home, and a dog that only listens at home has not really learned the command. Training in an unfamiliar place, with distractions, is what makes obedience hold up anywhere.
How does board and train work if I live in Lebanon?
You drop your dog off and pick them up, which is the part most Lebanon owners ask about first. For the one and two week programs your dog lives and trains at the trainer's home for the whole stay, not in a kennel run. You get daily updates with a photo or video of the work, and at the end you sit down for a two hour one-on-one session where your trainer shows you exactly how to handle everything your dog has learned so it holds up once you are home.
How much does dog training cost in Lebanon?
Obedience lessons start at $650 for the four-lesson basic package and $950 for the eight-lesson basic and advanced package. Board and train runs $1,800 for one week, $2,800 for two weeks, and $3,800 for the behavior modification program. Every price is listed on the plans and pricing page. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options. Those prices are the same wherever you drive in from, including Lebanon.
How old does my puppy have to be before training starts?
We do not start e-collar training until a dog is at least five months old, and that is our own stated rule on the FAQ page, not a rough guide. If your puppy is younger than that, Basic Marker Mastery is the right starting point: four reward-based sessions using a clicker and marker work to build come, sit, place and loose-leash walking. There is also a 10-Day Pawsitive Foundation Puppy Board and Train for puppies between twelve and twenty-four weeks. Owners in Lebanon usually start there and move up once the puppy is old enough.
What do I actually get at the end of a board and train?
A dog that knows come, sit, place, down, heel and off, and a two hour one-on-one session teaching you how to keep it. The two week program finishes with the dog working off leash, outdoors, with distractions in play, and covers door, greeting and meal manners plus socialization around people and other dogs. The one week program covers the same basic commands but is on leash rather than off leash, which is worth knowing before you choose between them.
