Immersive Training

The fastest route to a dog you can take anywhere

One hour a week is a slow way to change a dog. In board and train your dog works with a professional trainer every day, in a real home rather than a kennel run, until the commands are automatic. You still learn to handle your own dog: every program ends with a two-hour one-on-one session at home. If you would rather do the training yourself, our private obedience lessons cover the same commands at your own pace.

Why Board And Train Works

What the board and train programs deliver

Daily, not weekly

Your dog trains every day with a professional trainer instead of once a week with you.

Trained in a real home

Your dog stays and trains at the trainer's home, so the manners are built where dogs actually live.

Off-leash work

The two-week program trains your dog to work completely off leash, outside, with distractions.

Distraction proofing

Every behavior is taught to a high level of distraction proofing, not just in a quiet room.

A two-hour handover

When your dog comes home you get a two-hour session on everything they do and how to handle it.

What Southwest Missouri dog owners say

“Before training, Wilson was difficult to walk, constantly sought attention, and had a habit of counter surfing. After completing the two-week program, he has transformed into the well-behaved, well-mannered, and highly obedient dog we always hoped he could be.”

Zachery RodriguezVerified Google review

“Henry came home in a great state of mind, focused, and confident. His ability to sit, down, come, place, and heel is dialed in... Some folks might be hesitant about training an older dog, but even at 8 years old it was a great investment.”

Scott and MelissaVerified Google review

“I did the 2 week drop off and train and McKenzie was fantastic! She sent regular updates with videos and pictures, made incredible progress with my dog, and was so helpful through the whole process.”

Board and train questions

How long is board and train?

Choose one week, two weeks, or three weeks. The one-week program covers the basic commands on leash. The two-week program is the full off-leash obedience program. The behavior modification program runs three weeks and adds three private sessions.

Where does my dog stay?

Your dog stays and trains at the trainer's home, not in a boarding kennel. That is deliberate: manners, door behavior and socialization are easier to build where a dog is actually living.

Will my dog be off leash by the end?

The two-week program trains your dog to work completely off leash, outside, around distractions. The one-week program is on-leash basic commands only. For dogs dealing with aggression or severe anxiety, full off-leash freedom is not always the right goal, and your trainer will be straight with you about what is realistic for your dog.

What is included in the price?

The Off Leash K9 e-collar your dog is trained on, a 15 ft training leash, the board and train itself, and a two-hour one-on-one session when your dog comes home that walks you through every command and how to handle them.
