Stewy’s Story: A Young Bichpoo Who Learned to Listen

Stewy was a seven-month-old Bichpoo who did the two week board and train with trainer Kasey at Off Leash K9 Training Southwest Missouri. His owner came to us for two reasons: Stewy would not listen to her, and he was far too rough with the tiny senior dog he lives with.

You can read Stewy’s owner’s full review on Google, the one this story is written from.

Where Stewy Started

At seven months, Stewy was ignoring his owner almost completely. In her words, he did not even act like he knew his own name. Potty training was coming along, but not much else was.

The bigger worry was at home. Stewy shares the house with a twelve-year-old Yorkie who weighs three and a half pounds. Stewy is much bigger, and when he played he would maul her. She did not want to play, and she was living in constant fear. His owner knew she had to get him under control, and soon.

The Training Journey

She found us on Facebook, read through our programs and chose the two week board and train. For those two weeks Stewy lived and trained with Kasey, our head trainer.

Every evening his owner got a video and a text from Kasey explaining what Stewy had worked on that day. She shared those updates on her own Facebook page, and her friends followed along. By her account, they were amazed at how much he was changing.

Daily updates matter more than people expect. Two weeks is a long time to be away from a young dog, and seeing the work as it happens is what lets an owner relax and trust the process.

Stewy’s Wins

The progress showed up every single day, in the videos his owner watched and her friends watched with her. By the time he came home, the people following along were amazed at how far he had come.

His owner’s verdict was simple: it was worth every penny, and she would do it again in a minute.

What Comes Next at Home

Stewy’s owner wrote her review right after he came home, and she said something we love hearing. She is doing her best to keep everything he learned fresh in his mind.

That is exactly the right instinct. A board and train gives a dog the skills and gives the owner the tools, and the daily practice afterward is what makes it last. It also matters for the smallest member of the house. A dog who listens to his owner is a dog she can call off when play gets too rough.

Why This Story Matters

A lot of people assume training is only for big, strong or aggressive dogs. Stewy is a good reminder that a small, young dog can cause real stress in a home, especially when there is an older or more fragile pet in the picture. Starting early, once a puppy is old enough, is far easier than waiting for habits to set.
